Lakeview Jr High Jazz LAB Band
The Jazz LAB Band is our second jazz band.
It is an introductory jazz experience that caters to young players and those inexperienced with the jazz styles.
We play different types of fun music, including rock, swing, and Latin styles.
We also learn the basics of improvisation.
Any student enrolled in Concert Band, Symphonic Band or Wind Ensemble can join.
It is an extracurricular group, so students must be academically eligible.
This group is great for students playing flute, clarinet, sax, trumpet, trombone, and baritone.
We can only take a limited number of piano, bass, and drum set players.
Drummers should be taking lessons and have at least a small bit of drum set experience.
Piano players should be in lessons, AND must be able to read and play BOTH bass and treble clef.
LAB band meets on Thursday afternoons, from 3:20-4:30 pm in the LV Music room.
The end time may extend slightly as we get close to a performance.
We will work for two performances. One in December and one at the end of the school year.
Students involved in sports or other activities can I still join LAB Band!
We are able to split rehearsal/practice time. If you have a game, you go to your game.
Students can have a snack for after school.
Pickup is promptly at 4:30 pm.
Please make sure your child has a ride, as I need to pick up my child, too!
