BEFORE RECORDING: Practice enough so you can stay with the guide track! 120 beats/minute
1. TUNE YOURSELF UP! Use Tuner Ninja
2. Read the directions/help for each section BEFORE recording.
3. Remember to play all the way through the section.
4. If it's not correct or too slow, practice, fix it, try again!
5. THINK MUSICALLY! Dynamics and articulations are key. I cannot fix those in the mix...
AUDIO GUIDE TRACKS
YOU MUST USE your earbuds/headphones when recording
Section 1 • m1-10 • Smooth, connected, and slurred. Move fingers fast. Play as many measures as possible in one breath. Long note parts: LISTEN carefully to the quarter note pulse to help keep count.
Section 2 • m10-22 • Tempo change! 112 beats/measure. Not too loud. 8th notes not too short. Quarter notes long and connected. DON'T chop off the last note of each phrase
Section 3 • m22-33 • Same feel as section 2. Medium loud
Section 4 • m33-45 • Same feel as section 2 and 3. A bit louder for the quarter notes. Whole note people: accent the notes and fade away, like a bell-tone. Measure 42 "fp": accent, get softer, crescendo into measure 43.
Section 5 • m45-55 • Same feel as previous sections. Don't forget the accents
Section 6 • m55-end • Same feel as previous sections. Start SOFTER and crescendo into measure 64.
