Mr. Tom Tedeschi, Director of Bands, received his Bachelor's degree in Music Education from DePaul University in 1990. He holds a Master's degree in Instrumental Music Education from VanderCook College of Music and a Master's of Educational Leadership from Northern Illinois University.
Mr. Tedeschi began his career in District 66 in 1991 teaching General Music, Symphonic Band, Choir, and Jazz Ensemble at Lakeview Jr. High. He became the Director of Bands in District 66 in 2000. Mr. Tedeschi currently conducts the 5th grade Cadet Band at Prairieview Elementary School, and co-directs the Lakeview Jr. High School 6th Grade Concert Band, Symphonic Winds, and Marching Band.
As a performer, Mr. Tedeschi was the lead male vocalist and trumpeter for 23 years with his band After Hours. Mr. Tedeschi has served as the District 1 IMEA Jr. Division Band Co-Chair and Chairperson, IMEA music selection committee member, and District 1 Festival Co-Chairperson. He is active as an adjudicator and clinician in the Chicagoland area. He was recognized by his peers for the Outstanding Music Educator Award in 2011 sponsored by Quinlan and Fabish Music Company. Mr. Tedeschi is a member of MENC, NAfME, and IMEA. He was awarded a Citation of Excellence by the National Band Association for Outstanding Achievement.
Mr. Tedeschi lives in Woodridge, Illinois with his wife Carol and two sons Danny and Sam.

Brian Ohlsen-Director • Lakeview Symphonic, Concert, Jazz Ensemble and Jazz Lab Bands, Prairieview 4th Grade Beginning Band

Mr. Ohlsen has been a music teacher at Center Cass District 66 in Downers Grove, Illinois since 1999. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Music Education degree from Northern Illinois University, where he studied trumpet with Terry Sawchuk and Ron Model, and a Master of Education degree from Concordia University, River Forest.
Mr. Ohlsen is currently director of the Lakeview Jr. High School Symphonic Band, Jazz Ensemble and Jazz Lab band, co-director of the marching band and color guard, and stage director of the spring musical. He is responsible for recruitment and is the Beginning Band director at Prairieview Elementary. Mr. Ohlsen also taught general music for seven years and was responsible for bringing technology into the music classroom. His Symphonic Band and Jazz Ensembles have consistently earned excellent and superior ratings at contests in Illinois, Missouri, Tennessee and Florida.
Throughout his career, Mr. Ohlsen played bass professionally around the Chicagoland area for over 30 years. He is a judge and clinician for local schools and has been a director at the American Band Camp in River Forest, IL, where he directed the top jazz band and co-directed the concert and marching bands. Outside of school, he keeps busy as a professional ceramic artist specializing in the Raku and Kintsugi artforms. Mr. Ohlsen lives in Downers Grove with his wife, two daughters, and their rescue dog, Rina.
